First Days Ride – Steamboat Springs to Lynx Pass Campground.
We left the Rabbit Ears Motel and got some supplies for a couple of days from Safeway and Ski Haus. Bear spray was on the list but they’d sold out so fingers crossed we don’t need any.
The weather was perfect, sunny with cloud and the perfect temperature. We got going and after a few miles we got on unpaved road. there were some pretty big puddles but the feet stayed dry.
I’m in awe of the scenery. It’s simply stunning. We had lunch at Stagecoach Reservoir, tortilla wraps with peanut butter and jam. I think I’ll be living off these for the foreseeable future.
We got Lynx Pass Campground and it was perfect! There was one other camper and the location was stunning. I’m going to be overusing the word “stunning” for the next couple of weeks.
After pitching the tents, I set up my hammock and had a little rest. Then dinner time, freeze dried chicken pesto pasta. There were notes on the picnic tables to lock all food in cars or lock boxes because of bears. We had neither do we shut out food in the pit toilets over night. Very hygienic.
Stunning scenery! Enjoy every moment
Simply stunning, what an adventure
