The homeless guy had gone by the time we woke up and he had left no trace. We did get a visit from the cops around midnight but they only shone their searchlight from the car. The town hall had let them know we were staying.

We had a good breakfast at Boogies Restaurant in Del Norte before getting some supplies at the local supermarket.

We set off along US Highway 160 for Park Creek Campground, about 25 miles away. After about 17 miles we got to the town of Southfork and stopped at a quirky place called Rachel’s for refreshment. It was a very unique place consisting of a food truck, another “building” where you ordered and lots of signs. In my quest to find a decent cup of tea I asked if they had black tea. They did. I asked if the had 2% milk. They did. What could go wrong! I got my tea and was disappointed to see they’d warmed up and frothed the milk! To be fair, it wasn’t too bad.

We headed out to our final destination for the day. We entered the mountains along Highway 160. It was good to be back in the mountains.

We arrived at Park Creek Campground and found a site next to the creek, the south fork of the Rio Grande. It was a stunning location. I think this has been my favourite Campground, so far.

It was hammock time (Stop. Hammock Time)! Time to relax with a Coors Banquet I had carried all the way from Hartsel.

Mike decided to wade across the river to the small island. I took a video in case he lost his footing. He didn’t.

Dinner was freeze dried Spaghetti with Meat Sauce but I had a can of peach slices for pudding! Delicious.

Today we rode 25 miles and climbed 889ft
